Election Commission to announce dates of upcoming elections in a press conference later today
NEW DELHI: The Election Commission has announced dates for assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana. Voting has been held in two stages in Chhattisgarh. Apart from this, in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Tanglina will be voted in a single phase. On December 11, the results of the counting of the five states will be announced.
The first phase of polling will be held on November 12 in Chhattisgarh. The last date for filing the form is October 23, when the script will be held on October 24. In this phase, there will be a polling for 18 assembly seats. The second phase will be held on November 20.
Madhya Pradesh-Mizoram election
Polling will take place on November 28 in Madhya Pradesh. Polling has been held here in a single phase. Mizoram will also be voted on the same day.
Elections in Rajasthan-Telangana
Voting on December 7 in Rajasthan Polling has been held here in a single phase. Elections have been held on December 7, as the Assembly has been broken in Telangana.
In the press conference organized by Election Commission, Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat said that the election process has been completed before December 15. So on December 11, the results will be announced by counting in all the five states. He said that modern EVMs and VVPATs will be used in the elections. Voting will also be done with the voting.
